PERFORMANCE PROGRAM:


1. PIANO SOLO


First group

First tour – performance duration up to 20 min.

1. J.S. Bach –  two parts  from French or English Suite or Prelude and Fugue from the “Well-Tempered Clavier”

2. Two virtuosic etudes on different types of technique:

  • Etude by Chopin (required)
  • Etude according to the participant’s choice

 

Second tour – performance duration up to 25 min.

1.  First or second and third parts of Classical sonata or the Rondo or Variations

2. Apiece by a composer of the XIX century according to the participant’s choice

3. Apiece by a composer of the XX century according to the participant’s choice

 


Second group

First tour – performance duration up to 25 min.

1. Prelude and Fugue from the “Well-Tempered Clavier” by J.S. Bach or Prelude and Fugue from  “24 Preludes and Fugues” by D.D. Shostakovich

2. Two virtuosic etudes on different types of technique:

  • Etude by Chopin
  • Etude by one of the composers according to the participant’s choice: Liszt, Scriabin, Schumann, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Stravinsky, Leggett

3. Apiece by a composer of the XIX century according to the participant’s choice

 

Second tour – performance duration up to 25 min.

1. First or second and third parts of Classical sonata or the Rondo or Variations

2. Apiece by a composer of romantic period according to the participant’s choice

3. Apiece by one of the composers according to the participant’s choice: Hindemith, Schoenberg, Berg, Webern, Stravinsky, Bartok, Debussy, Ravel, Messiaen, Prokofiev, Shostakovich

 


Third group

First tour – performance duration up to 25 min.

1. J.S. Bach – Prelude and Fugue from the “Well-Tempered Clavier” or Toccata

2. Two virtuosic etudes by Chopin on different types of technique

3. Apiece by a composer of XX – XXI century according to the participant’s choice

 

Second tour – performance duration up to 30 min.

1. Classical sonata by Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven (full piece).

2. Major romantic piece or cycle of music pieces according to the participant’s choice (performance of separate parts is possible).

 


Young Masters

First tour – performance duration up to 30 min.

1. Hindemith – Interlude and Fugue

2. Apiece by a composer of romantic period according to the participant’s choice

 

Second tour – performance duration up to 35 min.

1. Apiece by the a composer of the second half of the XXth century or a piece, published after 2000 year  according to the participant’s choice


2. DUO-PIANISTS


First group – performance duration up to 20 min.

1.  A piece for piano, 4 hands (Sonate by Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Kuhlau, Diabelli)

2. Apiece for two pianos according to the participants’ choice

 


Second group – performance duration up to 23 min.

1. An original piece for piano, 4 hands according to the participants’ choice

2. Apiece for two pianos according to the participants’ choice

 


Third group – performance duration up to 25 min.

1. An original piece for piano, 4 hands according to the participants’ choice

2. Apiece for two pianos according to the participants’ choice

 


3. CHAMBER ENSEMBLE WITH PIANO

Attention!

The competition program should include pieces of different styles. Participation of  musicians should be equal.  Participation of accompanists as part of the ensemble is not permitted.

 


First group – performance duration up to 20 min.

1. Apiece by a composer of romantic or classical period according to the participants’ choice

2. Apiece according to the participants’ choice (performance of separate parts is possible)

 


Second group – performance duration up to 25 min.

1. Apiece by a composer of classical period according to the participants’ choice (in the absence of original compositions for certain chamber ensembles transcriptions is also available)

2. Apiece by a composer of romantic period, or a piece by a composer of XX – XXI century (performance of separate parts is possible)


Third group:

First tour – performance duration up to 30 min.

1. Apiece by a composer of classical period according to the participant’s choice

2. Apiece by a composer of Saint-Petersburg (Leningrad) school, or a piece by a composer of XX – XXI century (performance of separate parts is possible)

 

Second tour – performance duration up to 25 min.

1. Apiece by a composer of romantic period according to the participant’s choice (full piece)

 

Time limits and rules of competition programs are mandatory for all participants of the competition!
